Hands Playing the PianoIf you’re a fan of live music and a lover of New Orleans history and culture, then there is a festival for you. The Birdfoot Festival celebrates New Orleans’s classical heritage with the goal of broadening access to live music performances in the area.

The Festival was founded in 2011 by New Orleans community members and professional musicians and has brought tasteful, professional chamber music to New Orleans.

This festival combines the qualities of an international music festival with the flavor only New Orleans has. By bringing live chamber music to the area, this event expands long-term opportunities for classical music and musicians in New Orleans.

In 2012, the Birdfoot Festival drew an audience from at least nine states in addition to outstanding representation from people across the Greater New Orleans Area.

This year, sixteen artists from around the world will make their way to NOLA to perform five concerts and five community outreach events. Chamber music is the ‘classical’ equivalent of small jazz or blues combo making it intimate and unique. These concerts are worth going to see.

The festival takes place May 27-31. Everyone here at Harmon, Smith & Vourvoulias, LLC encourages you to get out and support these musicians while enjoying the New Orleans community. For more information, visit the event website.
