Mother's Restaurant | New Orleans, LA | Harmon, Smith & Vourvoulias, LLCWhen searching for the world’s best baked ham (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?), you may envision scouring restaurants across the country.

Luckily for us, and anyone that lives near New Orleans, the world’s best baked ham is right across the street from the Harmon, Smith & Vourvoulias, LLC office (at least that’s what the sign says).

Mother’s is a classic New Orleans restaurant located at 401 Poydras Street. We often visit the unique local favorite for a Ferdi Special (a po’ boy packed with baked ham, roast beef, debris and gravy) or classic jambalaya.

According to the restaurant’s website, Mother’s opened it’s doors in 1938 along Poydras Street’s “Restaurant Row,” wedged between the courthouse and the thriving New Orleans waterfront. The Landry family cooked up po’ boys for the lines of longshoremen, laborers, newspapermen, and attorneys who frequented the area.

Today, our attorneys still love visiting the New Orleans favorite. In 2008, New Orleans City Business named Mother’s one of the city’s best restaurants.

Mother’s is also a great place to host a party. Mother’s Next Door features a large dining room and banquet room, while the restaurant offers party packages for you and your guests.

From all of us at Harmon, Smith & Vourvoulias, LLC, we hope you take the time to visit Mother’s—as well as our Poydras Street office—to support a historic local business and enjoy a delicious meal. Be sure to stop by and tell us about your experience! Bon appétit!
