New Orleans Jazz Festival - Harmon, Smith & Vourvoulias, LLCThe New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival jockeys with the French Quarter Festival as the best music festival in New Orleans. It has even been called the “the country’s best music festival” by Life Magazine and described as “a wider, deeper lineup of essential American musical styles than any festival in the nation” by the Wall Street Journal. Jazz Fest attracts hundreds of thousands of music fans every year since its inception in 1970.

The week-long festival, encompassing two weekends at the end of April and the beginning of May, includes a great variety of local and international musicians performing on 13 stages. Almost every genre imaginable is present, including jazz, blues, rock, funk, folk, gospel, Cajun, zydeco, R&B, African, and Latin Caribbean.

Because no New Orleans festival would be complete without food, Jazz Fest offers local and heritage delicacies provided by over 60 vendors. You can find jambalaya, jama-jama, cochon de lait po-boy, and Crawfish Monica at the festival.

Jazz Fest is scheduled to take place from April 26 to May 5 at the Fair Grounds Race Course (Gentilly Boulevard). Get your tickets while you can! Tickets are sold at ticketmaster.com, by calling (800) 745-3000, or in person at the New Orleans Arena Box Office. To learn more about Jazz Fest, visit the event page.
