If you enjoy indulging your taste buds with local food and first-class wine and supporting a few good causes, don’t miss the 2013 New Orleans Wine and Food Experience.
The New Orleans Wine and Food Experience (NOWFE) has been taking place annually since 1992. This year’s event will take place May 22nd through May 25th. NOWFE highlights local food and legendary restaurants along with fine wines from around the world. It truly is an event not to be missed and has been named a “Perennial Top Ten Wine and Food Festival” in Wine Enthusiast magazine
This year’s participating local chefs include:
- John Besh
- Susan Spicer
- Tariq Hanna
- Brian Landry
The talent doesn’t end there, as many more acclaimed chefs from outside of New Orleans will also be participating.
NOWFE events include:
- The Royal Street Experience: live music, food, and wine in the French Quarter
- A gala parade
- Grand tastings
- Seminars on a variety of topics led by industry experts
The New Orleans Wine and Food Experience takes place in the French Quarter. Prices vary from event to event, which allows you to build a package that fits your tastes and budget.
The 2013 beneficiaries of NOWFE will share 100% of the event proceeds. The Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadina will receive 40%, and the remaining proceeds will be split between the Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation’s ProStart Program, Delgado Culinary Arts School, New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts’ Culinary Program, the John Folse Culinary Institute, and the Edible Schoolyard.
