Tito Ortiz DUI | New Orleans, LA DWI Attorney | Harmon, Smith & Vourvoulias, LLCUFC is becoming one of America’s most popular sports, now seen frequently on mainstream programs like ESPN and FOX. With the growing fame of these mixed martial athletes, however, the media spotlight has revealed some mishaps, some of them law-breaking.

Last month, ex-UFC champion Tito Ortiz became all too familiar with the unwanted attention. After crashing his Porsche on a Los Angeles freeway, he was arrested on suspicion of DWI.

According to an article from FOX Sports, the ex-fighter ran into a concrete median at 4 a.m. in his 2012 Porsche Panamera, with two passengers in the vehicle as well.

Once police arrived on the scene, Ortiz was administered a Breathalyzer test. He blew a .12 BAC, well above the legal .08.

After being arrested, Ortiz was taken to the local police station, where bond was set at $15,000.

Apparently, Ortiz had been at the Playboy mansion earlier in the evening for a BCS National Championship pre-party. The DWI he was arrested for is a misdemeanor charge.

As you can see, officers are enforcing DWI laws strictly around the entire country. If you show any sign of intoxication or are involved in a late-night crash as Ortiz was here, you could be arrested on suspicion of DWI.

If you have been charged with a DWI in New Orleans, waiting to reach out for help only hurts your chances of clearing your name. Contact an experienced DWI attorney right away if you are suspected of driving while intoxicated in or near New Orleans, Louisiana.
